Veterans Day

Veterans day is a holiday held on the anniversary of the end of the world war, November 11. The purpose of veterans day is to honor U.S Veterans and victims of the war. It is Important to show honor on Veterans day because it is a way of acknowledging the sacrifices they have made for our country.  Some things you can do to honor veterans on veterans day is to hang the flag on your front yard, visit the gravesite of a veteran, ask a veterans about their time in the military, and attend a veterans day event.

I greatly respect the Veterans who have fought for our freedom and our country because they have made several sacrifices that others wouldn’t and i am thankful for everything they have done for us. Some sacrifices they make are their own life, leaving their family for a certain amount of time, and the comfort and security of their own home.

Reflection:

I believe that Veterans do deserve to have their own holiday because of everything they have sacrificed for us and their country. It is very brave for them to do because not everyone would leave their home and family to become a soldier and serve our country. Those who do become Veterans i would like to thank you. You have been through so much without the help of your family, so it must be extremely hard. You are the type of person who fights for what is right and will never give up. I'm not even sure if a holiday is enough to thank you for what you have done for our country. We owe our lives to you, you fought for our lives and without you we would probably be dead.
