Presidents’ Day is an American holiday celebrated on the third Monday in February. Originally established in 1885 in recognition of President George Washington, it is still officially called “Washington’s Birthday” by the federal government.the holiday became popularly known as Presidents’ Day after it was moved as part of 1971’s Uniform Monday Holiday Act, an attempt to create more three-day weekends for the nation’s workers.

3)What are several ways to show honor and respect on Presidents Day?
  • Going to the president's memorial in Mount Rushmore.
  • Eating pie(George Washington's and Abraham Lincoln's favorite dessert.)
  • Eating fish(George Washington's favorite main course)
4) How can you show honor and respect on presidents day?
  • Eat pie
  • Eat fish
  • Visit Mount Rushmore
  • Think of all the things the president’s did and appreciate it.
  • Read books about them
